Minimalist One-Piece Pool in Colchester

This project saw us head to Colchester to install a stylish 10x4m one-piece pool in the garden of a contemporary family home. To meet the client’s needs, we focused on combining minimalist aesthetics with practical features that would support leisure, exercise, and family fun. They wanted an outdoor pool that was sleek, modern, and low-maintenance, while still being safe and accessible for children.

In order to provide a high-performance swimming experience, which led to the inclusion of a powerful double turbine counter-current system suitable for swim training. Safety was also a priority, with the client keen to integrate child-friendly elements without compromising on aesthetics.

We installed a one-piece pool shell in a dark grey tone, selected for its minimalist look and ability to reflect surrounding textures without appearing stark. The interior of the pool features a stippled, leather-grain effect for enhanced grip underfoot, an ideal choice for a family-oriented pool where safety is paramount.

The design includes a full-width set of LED-lit steps, with a generous top step providing a shallow lounging area that doubles as a safe play zone for younger swimmers. Beneath the surface, the integrated double turbine counter-current system.

Installation posed some unique logistical challenges. The shell was delivered via articulated lorry and lifted into the rear garden with the help of a 100-tonne crane, hoisting it over the house and across a distance of 45 metres. However, we ensured the pool arrived safely and was installed without disruption to the property or surrounding landscape.

The project was completed with the installation of a high-spec safety cover, designed and fitted by our in-house team in collaboration with trusted partners. This ensures year-round safety, energy efficiency, and ease of maintenance.

The client was thrilled with the finished result, both with the seamless installation process and how well the pool integrates into their garden.
