A Natural Indoor Pool in a Restored Barn
Set within a beautifully refurbished stone long barn in Bath, this project combines traditional architecture with modern pool design. The homeowners envisioned a chlorine-free indoor pool that would complement the character of their property, suitable for swimming all year round.
To achieve this, we built a reinforced concrete structure lined with Bisazza glass mosaic tiles, chosen for their lustrous colour and exceptional durability and a custom underwater lighting scheme. The result is a beautiful and luxurious pool that perfectly replicates our clients’ vision
Installing An Indoor Pool
Every element of this indoor pool was planned for efficiency, comfort, and visual impact. The pool includes an integrated slatted safety cover, cleverly concealed within a dedicated lounging shelf. This feature helps retain heat, minimise evaporation, and maintain the water’s clarity when not in use.
A Calorex air handling system, connected to an air source heat pump via a low-temperature hot water (LTHW) circuit, regulates both heating and dehumidification. For water quality, our advanced mineral filtration system keeps the pool naturally clean without the need for chlorine or harsh chemicals, delivering perfectly clear water at a comfortable 30°C.
Client Feedback
The owners were delighted with how seamlessly the pool integrates with their restored barn, and are excited to swim in naturally filtered, warm water all year round.
