Eco Pools = Environmetally Friendly Pools
The fact is that the pool isn't an eco pool or eco pool design if the chemical processes being used to filter the pool are essentially harmful to living organisms. In natural swimming pools the nutrients from the pools are simply used up by the natural bacteria leaving no extra food for algae to grow and resulting in an environmentally friendly pool without any harmful mechanisms of disinfection.
